Massage Therapist Training in Delaware

This post will address the training you must do to become a massage therapist in Delaware.

Like many other states Delaware requires you to pass the NCETMB; one thing that is very important is that your NCMTMB scores must be sent directly to the licensing board.

Delaware Specific Requirements

  • You must arrange for a transcript to be sent from your school, an unofficial transcript will not be accepted.
  • You need at least 500 hours of training at an approved school, which is then broken down further into the following three minimum limits
    • 100 hours – anatomy/physiology
    • 100 hours – electives related to massage therapy
    • 300 hours – massage/bodywork technique and theory


Your massage therapist license will expire on August 31 of years that end in even numbers.

You need to have at least 12 hours of continuing education in Delaware every 2 years in order to renew your license.

The renewal fee will be sent to you in the reminder letters, so make sure you keep your address up to date.
