The requirements to become a licensed massage therapist in Missouri are fairly simple to fulfill. The first requirement is that you go to school at an approved massage school in Missouri and complete 500 hours of in-class training.
Next you need to pass a written exam, in which your options are pretty flexible. You can either take a standard exam like the NCETM or the NCETMB, or even the MBLEx, OR you can take an equivalent exam like the NCCAOM or the NBCA. Finally you must submit a fingerprint and background check which you need to pay a small fee for.
It’s quite easy to renew your license, just make sure you complete your 12 hours of continuing education sometime during the 2 year period that your license is valid for and pay your fee.
